Core Values at work in our Mission and History

  • Prioritization of vision care

    • For 30 years, Tennessee Lions Charities, Inc. has dedicated its service to improving the lives of children through increased access to vision care.

      • Lions Eye Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

      • KidSight Outreach over 700,000 children screened!

        • KidSight Outreach provides early detection of vision problems that could hinder a child’s social, behavioral, and educational development.

        • KidSight Outreach follow-up protocols that ensure participants’ parents understand the need for treatment and can make informed decisions about their children’s healthcare.

      • School for the Blind Funds are under the oversight of TLC.

    • Through decades of service, our KidSight Outreach program has enabled more than 700,000 children in Tennessee to lay their own foundation without the burden of an unknown and untreated vision problem weakening the earliest years of their development.

 

  • Resource for education and empowerment

    • Tennessee Lions Charities, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit for Tennessee’s Lions.

    • Our staff has created resources for Lions that educate, empower, and excite Lions and our patrons

      • TLC Super Lion

      • Home of KidSight

    • Tennessee Lions Charities, Inc. is also a resource for Tennesseans seeking information about their local Lions Club or Lions International and those residents who are seeking financial assistance for vision care.

      • Our staff approaches every patron’s request with empathy and strives to represent the dedication to service that every Lion has in their heart.

      • We help patrons seeking assistance with vision care connect with their local club, especially if there is a language or technology barrier to service.

 

  • Invested in strengthening the service of Lions

    • Tennessee Lions Charities, Inc. created KidSight Outreach as a service program that was unique to and that set the Lions of Tennessee apart from other Lions in the world.

    • We continue our efforts to empower Tennessee’s Lions to engage with their communities through unique service programs and promotional resources.

    • Tennessee Lions Charities, Inc. is committed to providing unique educational and promotional materials to the Lions of Tennessee.

    • KidSight Outreach was not just a creation of Tennessee Lions Charities, Inc.; we continue to provide oversight and patron service that elevates our KidSight Outreach vision screening program.

    • Our staff strives to spread awareness and educate parents about the benefits of early detection of vision problems and how seeking proactive treatment early in life can preserve a child’s eyesight and improve their quality of life.

    • Through our dedicated follow-up efforts and educational resources, our staff ensures that parents of referred children are aware of the potential vision problems that their child could be facing.
